Apparently some folks out there have forgotten that there is a different section in bookstores that has for some time now accommodated stories that are not actually true. These people are caught up in the seemingly unending love of the Memoir. I'm not sure when exactly it happened, but sometime recently the Memoir seemed to lodge its way into the #1 spot in readers' hearts. I'm also not sure why exactly this is. In my opinion if it's good, it's good, doesn't matter what section it goes in in the bookstore. But some people apparently love to label things so much, and for a while now, Memoir has been the IT label. And then we end up with stories like this.
